Hi!

My name is Susana Guillen, I’m the proud Mexican American designer behind "SUSANA GUILLEN".
For as long as I can remember, I have always dreamed of being a fashion designer. It all started with a Barbie sewing machine and a dream.

I never realized fashion could be a career until, I started high school, this where I took my first sewing class. I graduated in 2013 and was the only student in my graduating class to receive the class of 2013 Family and Consumer Science Award, AKA the fashion award. My dream was to always attend fashion school, in New York, LA, or Paris, but being a first-generation student, that dream was never fulfilled due to not being able to financially afford my education. My economical background however wasn’t going to stop me from following my dreams. I completed my education at San Diego Mesa College and got my A.S. in Fashion Design and Early Childhood Education. Community college gave me the chance to participate in my first fashion show, alongside other talented designers, I presented my first collection at the annual, Golden Scissors Fashion Show, at the Sheraton Hotel and Marina San Diego in 2017.

Currently, I create customs designs and teach sewing classes to children.

Thanks for reading,

Susana
